Growing up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Kellen was exposed to the worlds of development, engineering, and architecture at an early age, and he spent much of his time exploring the natural beauty of the region. This love for nature has remained with him throughout his career, and he now seeks to integrate the natural world into his designs in meaningful and sustainable ways.
Kellen's architectural education was not limited to American design concepts. He pursued multiple study-abroad programs to expand his knowledge of architectural philosophies from different regions and cultures, gaining a global perspective that informs his work to this day. Drawing on these experiences, Kellen has developed integrative design philosophies and methods that emphasize sustainability and responsible, eco-friendly design.
As an architectural designer, Kellen is committed to removing the static from structures and creating spaces that evolve and change over time. His approach emphasizes performance, precision, and growth, as well as the unique characteristics of the site and the natural elements that surround it. He has worked on a diverse range of projects, including government, military, hospital aerospace, educational, industrial, marina/maritime, commercial, and residential projects.
Throughout his career, Kellen has held various positions, from lead designer to project manager to general contractor. He has a reputation for being detail-oriented and dedicated, and he has managed construction crews and design teams with skill and professionalism.
